Is 5.87% or 40% Telugu population in TN

As per the 2011 Census Telugu speaking population is 5.87% but some say it will be nearly 40% and many telugu people are not registering themselves as knowing Telugu if not as their mother tongue.Even if they register in the census as knowing Telugu it will boost the percentage beyond 5.87%
